How to become a stronger runner?
Strength training for runners means precision, not just power. Proper training builds speed and resilience; mistakes cost you both.
At the end of last year, we decided to expand our list of strength classes, as we had often discussed the importance and necessity of developing various types and aspects of strength for human health. As a result, Strength Base, Strength Gain, and Strength Lab were created. The latter was something of an experiment, as its main idea was to implement the principle of periodization and systematic development of maximum strength in a group format. The calculation was that if a more or less homogeneous group formed that would train regularly, and we applied some pedagogical and methodological knowledge, following the path as if we were preparing an athlete for competition - the results wouldn't take long to arrive. And that's exactly what happened. Many participants were able to safely improve their strength indicators by one and a half to two times, despite not being complete beginners!
Summer has already arrived, and we thought it would be great to develop a similar strength class specifically for those preparing for the Berlin Marathon or who simply want to take their running to a qualitatively new level. After all, what distinguishes an amateur from a professional is that the latter always has a clear action plan. Therefore, we are excited to present "Running Lab"!
Running Lab focuses on improving your running efficiency by strengthening key muscles, refining biomechanics, and enhancing neuromuscular coordination. The plyometric work develops power and elasticity, supporting a smoother, more economical running style.
What makes this class unique is its structured design, which aligns intensity and volume with your running preparation plan. This periodized approach encourages steady progress and helps you peak at the right moments, similar to the success we saw in Strength Lab where planned progression led to meaningful, sustainable gains.
Whether you’re preparing for a race like the Berlin Marathon or simply want to run stronger and more comfortably, Running Lab meets you where you are, working with your current fitness and experience level. By combining form work, strength training, and plyometrics within a smart training framework, this class promotes resilience, improved running economy, and injury prevention.
For runners seeking a deeper, more mindful connection to their training, Running Lab offers an effective way to build strength, efficiency, and long-term running success.
